OPRAH!
Have you given or received a classy cake by Sew Cute and Crafty? Are our diaper cakes your idea of a perfect gift for the expecting Mommy? If so, TELL OPRAH about us!
Custom Cakes
This week I have been working on a few custom cake orders. The first was a variation of the Pink Gerber Daisy Cake. She liked the cake, but needed it for a boy. I used baby blue and brown and white flowers. The cake turned out very chic and I really liked the crisp look! I didn't have time to take good pictures of it because we were on a shipping time crunch, so this pic is the only one I took!
The second picture is of the cake I'm working on right now. It's also a spin-off from the Gerber Daisy Diaper Cake. She wanted to use a sea-foam green with the pink and brown polka ribbon. She also wanted to personalize it with the name "Emily". The picture is just the bottom layer of the cake. It was late last night, so I decided to finish it tonight.

Photo shoot!
This weekend I worked on a few new cakes for my website and for the photographer that is coming out today. Her name is Heather Giles and she is with Giles Photography. She just moved to OK from CA and is trying to make a name for herself here.
She found my cakes on Craigslist and asked if she could photograph them for free! I jumped right on that! So, I have 3 of my favorite cakes...and 3 new ones for her to shoot.
I will post those pictures as soon as I get them!
Clint and I are off to San Antonio for our 2nd Anniversary this weekend!

Wordless Wednesday- Picture of the decade
The baby was diagnosed with spina bifida and would not survive if r emoved from his mother's womb. Little Samuel's mother, Julie Armas, is an obstetrics nurse in Atlanta She knew of Dr. Bruner's remarkable surgical procedure. Practicing at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, he performs these special operations while the baby is still in the womb.
During the procedure, the doctor removes the uterus via C-section and makes a small incision to operate on the baby. As Dr.Bruner completed the surgery on Samuel, the little guy reached his tiny, but fully developed hand through the incision and firmly grasped the surgeon's finger. Dr.Bruner was reported as saying that when his finger was grasped, it was the most emotional moment of his life, and that for an instant during the procedure he was just frozen, totally immobile.

Update: G.N.I
Ok, so how is it that we have a really fun G.N.I and these two random pictures are the only ones I took? I'm usually the one with the camera in everyone's face! Oh well. We still had fun, and believe it or not, we all stayed up until 2am! I paid for it the next day, but oh well.
We played a game or two, painted our nails (well sort of) and chatted! The margarita's were good... and the wine was tasty.
I guess next time I will take more pictures!

Girl's Night In!
So I'm taking a break from "baking" Delicious Diaper Cakes and have put on my party hat! "Why?" you ask... Well because it's GNI (aka..Girl's Night In) at my house! Yes, you heard it right... we are putting on our most comfy PJ's and gearing up for a night of girl talk and margarita's! I'm so excited! My husband, Clint, is out of town on a ski trip with his men's group.... so I decided to get ultra girly and throw a party!
Last night I baked cupcakes & brownies, and with the help of my fellow GNI friend Melissa, we made a fruit tray with dip, and a veggie tray.
Yes, there were a few cupcakes that were sacraficed in the process but we had to make sure everything was up to par for the occasion! Check back for some great party pics!!

A true GNI would not be complete without "Dirty Dancing, Sixteen Candles, Riding in Cars with Boys, and Grease"
